James Gunn Confirms ‘Superman’ Runtime & Clears Up Rumor Warner Bros. Forced Him To Cut It Down


James Gunn is clearing some issues up about his upcoming movie, Superman.

The long-awaited DC Comics film is slated to premiere on July 11 this summer season, and there are rumors concerning the runtime.

A Threads person requested Gunn if the Superman runtime of two hours and 9 minutes was right, to which the filmmaker and DC Studios co-head replied, confirming it was correct.

“Inclusive of credits/post credits the runtime is 2 hours 9 minutes,” Gunn confirmed.

Discussing the identical matter of runtime, one other person requested Gunn if it was true that Warner Bros. had compelled him to make the movie shorter.

“Zero truth to that,” Gunn replied, including, “And they couldn’t even if that’s something that they wanted to. It’s a DC Studios film.”

Superman was written, directed, and co-produced by Gunn, and it’s the primary movie of the DC Universe titled Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. The movie stars David Corenswet because the Man of Steel exploring Clark Kent’s journey to reconcile together with his Kryptonian heritage and his adoptive household in Smallville.

Corenswet will star alongside Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Edi Gathegi (Michael Holt / Mister Terrific), Anthony Carrigan (Rex Mason / Metamorpho), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner / Green Lantern), and Isabela Merced (Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl).

Other actors which have roles within the movie embody Pruitt Taylor Vince, Neva Howell, Wendell Pierce, Skyler Gisondo, Beck Bennett, Mikaela Hoover, Christopher McDonald, Sara Sampaio, and Terence Rosemore.

Characters that may crossover from the DCU embody Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica, the Engineer, and Milly Alcock as Superman’s cousin Kara Zor-El, also called Supergirl.
