Patrick Wachsberger and Legendary’s JV 193 will rep gross sales rights in Cannes to French-language biopic Moulin, about WWII resistance fighter Jean Moulin.
Gilles Lellouche (Tell No One) and Lars Eidinger (Clouds of Sils Maria) will star within the movie from Oscar-winning filmmaker László Nemes (Son of Saul).
Based on true occasions, the movie will chart how Jean Moulin (Lellouche) parachuted into occupied France to unite the French resistance fighters beneath Charles de Gaulle’s management. Despite efforts to remain within the shadows, Jean Moulin is in the end betrayed and tortured by the hands of the formidable Head of the Gestapo in Lyon, Klaus Barbie (Eidinger). But even when locked in a tense, lethal standoff with the vicious Barbie, Moulin doesn’t break, and his braveness and silence helps result in the liberation of France, whereas forsaking a brand new spirit of power and resistance.
The movie is produced by Alain Goldman (La Vie En Rose) and written by Olivier Demangel (Class Act). TF1 and Studio TF1 function co-producers and can distribute the movie in France.
