Jess Chong, Canadian ‘Survivor,’ on her casting and what it’s really like on the present


For Survivor Season 46 contestant Jess Chong, there was one evident factor of competitors that she didn’t anticipate to be lacking: dwelling and surviving on a seashore in Fiji didn’t include the trademark dramatic rating she’d develop into accustomed to as a fan of the present.

“The thing that was the most striking about (being there) is that you don’t hear the music when you’re out there!” she advised Global News in a current interview.

“It feels like you’re not on Survivor, it feels like you’re in a nature documentary…. When you’re walking into Tribal Council, you’re not hearing ancient voices or anything like that,” she mentioned, laughing at the way it felt much less cinematic to be there, in individual, than watching from dwelling.

Chong, who hails from Toronto however now works in California as a software program engineer, is one among two Canadians competing for US$1 million and title of Sole Survivor.

After years of watching the present and waffling on whether or not to simply accept an invite to be a part of the long-running actuality survival collection, she determined to chunk the bullet and shortly discovered herself travelling to Fiji.
