Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson is getting married! The former NFL participant dropped to 1 knee and requested his girlfriend, Sharelle Rosado, to marry him on Saturday (Jan. 7).
Rosado gave him an emotional “yes,” adopted by an embrace. She later informed PEOPLE that that is “the next step of [their] beautiful journey together.”
And Ochocinco, who proposed in Miami, made positive about 20 family and friends members witnessed the second.
Sharelle appeared to assume Chad was kidding at first–given his normal goofball antics. But Johnson wasn’t. But to get her to the venue, he reportedly informed her it was an early celebration of his forty fifth birthday, which he introduced in immediately (Jan. 9). He pulled out the field with mild illuminating the ring, and Sharelle let the joyful tears circulation! Per PEOPLE, he slid an oval minimize, 7.5-carat engagement ring on Sharelle’s left hand.
“I’m honestly shocked, I’m at a loss for words. This was absolutely beautiful, and to see my family and friends here to celebrate our love, that really did it for me,” Sharelle informed PEOPLE.

Their engagement comes over a 12 months after they welcomed their first baby and daughter collectively, Serenity, on January 2, 2022.
Serenity was Sharelle’s fourth and Ochocinco’s eighth.
