Bishop T.D. Jakes has sparked reactions after sharing a serious announcement about his function on the Potter’s House church in Dallas, Texas.

Bishop T.D. Jakes Shares Major Announcement About His Role At Potter’s House Church
According to TMZ, Bishop Jakes shared the announcement along with his congregation on Sunday, April 27. During the service, he reportedly introduced that he can be handing over his duties because the senior pastor of the megachurch to his daughter, Sarah Jakes Roberts, and her husband, Touré Roberts.
As for the explanation behind Jakes’ choice, he reportedly defined that he needs to deal with “major economic issues” and serve “as a bridge between community, culture, and corporate alliances to help position [the] nation for a stronger future.”
“As I enter my 50th year in the public spotlight, I recognize the urgent need to address more challenges of our time, particularly the looming threat of a disappearing middle class, social unrest, and closing opportunity gaps. This pivotal moment calls me to focus on a legacy of economic empowerment, serving as a bridge between community, culture, and corporate alliances to help position our nation for a stronger future,” he reportedly instructed the group, per Fox 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth. “Elevating Pastor Touré and Pastor Sarah as the new senior pastors of The Potter’s House, we will honor our rich history while embracing a future that demands innovative ministry for the coming age. This elevation is not a departure but a rebirth. I will never stop preaching and will continue to minister. This moment isn’t an ending, it’s an expansion…”
Per Fox 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth, the official appointment of Jakes Roberts and her husband will happen later this 12 months. However, Bishop T.D. Jakes will stay “Chairman of the Board and spiritual overseer of The Potter’s House.”

Last Year, Before Bishop T.D. Jakes’ Announcement, He Experienced A Medical Emergency
The bishop’s choice arrives about six months after he skilled a medical emergency. As The Shade Room beforehand reported, in November 2024, Jakes was rushed out of a service, and it was subsequently revealed that he skilled a “health incident.”
