More than 35 years later, John Goodman is saying goodbye to Dan Conner.
With the two-part collection finale of The Conners airing Wednesday at 8/7c on ABC, the Emmy winner mentioned the seven-season revival has passed by “so fast” as he opened up about bidding farewell to the patriarchal character he originated on Roseanne in 1988.
“It’s really hard. It’s something I’m going to miss for a while. I’m old and resistant to change,” he informed People, including: “It was so exciting when we got this together and it seems like it was two weeks ago. Showing up every day and just being here with everybody. It’s a great place to work.”
Goodman mentioned, “It’s just being here every day and like [my costar] Jay [R. Ferguson] said, we just come in and laugh a lot. And it’s hard.”
After ABC gave the collection an abbreviated renewal final May for its seventh and ultimate season, Goodman mentioned he’ll “be grateful for a long time” that the community gave them the “courtesy” of permitting them to complete the present.
