Sister Wives’ Kody Asked the Cemetery Sexton’s ‘Permission’ to Dig Son Garrison’s Grave

Kody Brown discovered a particular approach to honor his late son, Garrison Brown, after his sudden dying.

On the newest episode of Sister Wives, which aired on Sunday, May 18, the Brown household was making preparations for Garrison’s funeral in Wyoming. One of these preparations included Kody, 56, opting to dig Garrison’s grave.

“Here’s the factor. I talked to the sexton of the cemetery, and he is the one that might usually dig the graves,” Kody defined to the cameras, as he was proven arriving on the grave website. “I simply requested him [for] permission if I may dig it. It means one thing to me. I do not know why. It’s one thing deeply emotional.”

He didn’t full the duty alone. He was joined by his brother, Scott, and brother-in-law, Tim, each of whom Kody stated are part of “the boys group who nurtured” Garrison “into maturity.”

Kody did not carry the urn that Garrison’s stays are in, which may have helped them with measuring out the grave. But the daddy of 18 famous that “Mitch, my son-in-law, married to Aspyn, is making one thing completely different and I do not know what it seems like but.”

Later, Janelle Brown revealed to the cameras that Kody — whom she separated from in 2022 — had “contacted me about being the one who does the grave.”

Garrison died in March 2025 at age 25. PEOPLE confirmed two months after that his dying was dominated a suicide.
