Foo Fighters have parted methods with their drummer, Josh Freese, the musician mentioned on social media.
Freese took to Instagram to share that he would not be performing with the band led by Dave Grohl, and he was not given a transparent clarification.
“The Foo Fighters called me Monday night to let me know they’ve decided ‘to go in a different direction with their drummer.’ No reason was given,” Freese shared.
Despite being eliminated, Freese says he “enjoyed the past two years” with the band, “both on and off stage,” supporting the group with “whatever they feel is best” for them.
“In my 40 years of drumming professionally, I’ve never been let go from a band,” he continued. “So while I’m not angry-just a bit shocked and disappointed. But as most of you know I’ve always worked freelance and bounced between bands so, I’m fine.”
Freese has been a member of the punk rock band the Vandals since 1989 and a member of the brand new wave band Devo since 1996. The drummer has additionally labored with onerous rock band Guns N’ Roses and various rock band A Perfect Circle. He joined Foo Fighters in 2023.
