On the heels of its premiere in competitors on the Berlin Film Festival, Hong Sang-soo‘s “What Does That Nature Say” has discovered U.S. distribution with Cinema Guild.
The film marks the prolific South Korean director’s thirty third film and follows a powerful streak of six consecutive years on the Berlinale.
Cinema Guild, which not too long ago collaborated with Hong on his earlier movie “A Traveler’s Needs,” will launch “What Does Nature Say” in theaters within the U.S. later this 12 months. Produced by Jeonwonsa Film, the fim is represented internationally by Finecut.
“What Does That Nature Say” follows Donghwa (Ha Seongguk), a fledgling poet in his thirties who rejects materials aspirations and seeks to steer a life devoted to fact and wonder. On a lazy afternoon, he drives his girlfriend, Junhee (Kang Soyi), again to her mother and father’ residence outdoors Seoul. In the driveway, they run into her father (Kwon Haehyo), who’s unusually eager about Donghwa’s dinged up outdated automobile.
