Josh Gad needed to placed on a present for a comedy legend … revealing he ran Mel Brooks by the latest “Star Wars” sequels whereas pitching a “Spaceballs” sequel.
The actor advised the story on a latest episode of the “Let’s Talk Off Camera” podcast, hosted by Kelly Ripa … explaining Mel’s very concerned in a “Spaceballs” sequel.
Gad says once they pitched their authentic idea, Mel advised them he wanted them to clarify the newer films to him … and requested Gad to not depart at any element.
JG says he then launched right into a 40-minute rationalization … likening himself to a fight vet going to warfare in entrance of 1 individual — closely sweating, nailing each line and beat and explaining each comedic set piece.
