NME’s newest stars of The Cover, Lambrini Girls, have compiled an unique playlist to accompany the story’s launch – test it out beneath.

The Brighton punk band are on this week’s (December 16) version of The Cover, a renewal of NME’s dedication to supporting rising expertise throughout the globe on a weekly foundation. Every week, a rising artist will function on The Cover – you may learn the profile of Lambrini Girls right here, written by Rishi Shah and that includes pictures by Joseph Bishop.

To accompany The Cover, Lambrini Girls have compiled an unique playlist, selecting to make use of the chance to shine a lightweight on their native Brighton scene. ‘Best Of Brighton’ options tracks from the likes of Snayx, Ellis-D, The Wytches, Murmur and Bleach Lab. In The Cover, Lambrini Girls talk about their journey to date and the outspoken nature that has seen them arise as allies for the LGBTQ+ group, girls dealing with sexual abuse, Palestine and extra. “Politics has always been a part of all of my friendships,” Lilly Macieira explains. “Women tend to be a little bit more involved due to necessity… I have a really strong sense of justice – I’ve always got riled up about things and have been confused as to why other people aren’t.”

Elsewhere, the band talk about their debut album, ‘Who Let The Dogs Out’, which arrives on January 10, eager to take their message to the mainstream, and filling their politically-charged songs with humour. “When you grow up with a broken nose and weird straw hair, and no one wants to talk to you, you have to become really funny in order to make any friends,” jokes Phoebe Lunny. “I gained a few friends, and then I got really fucking hot. Now I’m hot and funny – job done!”
