The first trailer for Goodrich debuted on Friday, teasing Michael Keaton and Mila Kunis as an estranged father and daughter reconnecting.
Keaton stars as Andy Goodrich, whose life is upended when his spouse and mom of their 9-year-old twins enters a 90-day rehab program, leaving him on his personal with their younger youngsters. Thrust into the world of contemporary parenthood, Goodrich leans on his grown daughter from his first marriage, Grace (Kunis), who’s now pregnant, as he finally evolves into the daddy she by no means had.
“I am 27 years older than you, which is basically unheard of for siblings… except maybe in LA,” Grace explains to her child siblings within the trailer.
Kunis and Keaton teased the film in a Zoom dialog as she taught her onscreen dad learn how to put up the trailer to his social media. “I posted this on my own by the way,” Keaton wrote on his Instagram Story with the trailer.
Written and directed by Hallie Meyers-Shyer, Goodrich additionally stars Andie MacDowell, Michael Urie, Carmen Ejogo, Laura Benanti, Kevin Pollak, Viven Lyra Blair, Nico Haraga and Danny Deferrari.
After Ketchup Entertainment acquired the film in a aggressive mid-seven-figure deal in January, Goodrich premieres October 18 in theaters.
