Martha Skye Murphy has introduced her debut album: Um is about to reach June 14 by way of AD 93. With the information comes a brand new track, “Pick Yourself Up”—“an ode to mistrust, Fred & Ginger, and clear days,” as she places it in a press launch. Murphy provides in press supplies, “I wanted the album to feel like this constant tension between being in a very intimate domestic space, and then propelled into a far stranger environment that is difficult to situate. I want people to feel disoriented, erotically charged by the intimacy of a bedroom, then catapulted into a desert.”
Murphy co-produced the file with Ethan P. Flynn, with Marta Salogni and Heba Kadry dealing with the blending and mastering, respectively. The file additionally options contributions from Caroline’s Alex McKenzie, Squid’s Laurie Nankivell, and others.
