“The Simpsons” killed off a longtime character this week, sparking shock and outrage amongst its followers … and one producer says he expects nothing much less from the present’s diehards.
Tim Long, co-executive producer of the long-running animated sitcom, tells TMZ … the inventive workforce meant for Larry “The Barfly” Dalrymple’s demise to hit the viewers exhausting — though Dalrymple by no means had a giant second on the present.
ICYMI … Larry was a background character on the present, first showing again in 1989 throughout season 1, and largely exhibiting up in Moe’s Tavern close to Homer Simpson and his buddies. He sometimes throws out a line or two.
Long says it does not matter how small Larry’s function was, as a result of characters on “The Simpsons” do not die usually … so, it is an enormous deal after they do.
Tim provides he is sorry to these followers upset in regards to the demise, and the unhappy episode basically … however, he says he likes that followers appeared to take it as exhausting as Homer and the gang did in the course of the episode — as a result of it speaks to how beloved the present nonetheless is.
Plus, Long jokingly says ‘Flintstones’ followers would not have flinched if the present killed off the reviled character, The Great Gazoo … so, it is good to know followers care about all of the characters who make Springfield what it’s.
That mentioned, Long’s telling folks to cease freaking out — ‘trigger it is not like they killed off a serious character like Barney or Moe!!!
While it would take followers time to recover from this cartoon demise, not less than one individual behind the ‘Simpsons’ could not be happier about it.
