Louis Gossett Jr. has reportedly died on the age of 87. The late actor was well-known for his function within the 1982 movie An Officer and a Gentleman, for which he gained the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He was the primary Black man to take residence an Oscar within the class.

Gossett was married 3 times. His first spouse was Hattie Glascoe, whom he was married to from 1967 to 1968 after they annulled their marriage. In 1973, he tied the knot with Christina Mangosing, they usually divorced in 1975. In 1987, the late actor married third spouse Cyndi James-Reese, they usually divorced in 1992.

He is survived by his two youngsters: son Satie and son Sharron.
