Morgan Freeman Accepts Auburn Player’s Apology For Laying Of Hands – Deadline

After slapping away a hand he thought belonged to a rival’s fan, Auburn basketballer Johni Broome realized he needed to get proper with God — aka actor Morgan Freeman, who memorably performed the deity within the movie Bruce Almighty.

Broome tried to save lots of a ball from going out of bounds within the second half of Auburn’s sport towards Ole Miss when somebody within the entrance row grabbed his jersey.

Thinking it was an Ole Miss fan attempting to rattle him, Broome brushed the individual’s arm away.

Broome turned and shortly realized it was Freeman, the Academy Award-winning actor who’s an enormous Mississippi fan and attends many Rebels video games.

“I kind of got his hand off,” Broome later informed reporters. “I noticed who it was and I’m an enormous film man. I most likely watched one in all his motion pictures on the airplane coming right here.

“But I realized it was him and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m a big fan. I’m sorry.’ He said, ‘Just keep playing.’”

Broome went again over to Freeman through the sport.

“I’m just like, ‘I’m sorry, again,’” Broome stated. “He said, ‘You all good. Just keep playing.’ He’s a very good guy. Love him.”

Auburn received the sport. Broome received absolution.
