Despite many followers being lukewarm to the upcoming Aquaman 2, it appears as if Jason Momoa hasn’t misplaced his love for the character even in any case these years. In truth, it appears Momoa was instrumental in crafting the script for the sequel The Lost Kingdom, explaining in a current panel how nervous he was pitching his concepts to director James Wan:
“It’s pretty much all me, and I love it. I’m extremely proud of it,” Momoa revealed on the CCXP conference this previous weekend in Brazil. “There’s a lot of things you want to do and fulfill as an actor, and also for the fans, and for myself. When we finished the first one, I had a lot of ideas. And I started to put them down, just put down in my heart and my love for the character.”
“Then we got a meeting with DC and Warners and James [Wan],” He continued. “I’ve never done that before. I pitched my own idea but I’m like, ‘They can’t fault me on this, because I love this character and I’ve played it for so long. Here’s some ideas that I would like to do.’”
“And they responded really well to it, and then James liked a lot of ideas, and then they took that and ran with it and took it to another level.” He completed, saying the upcoming Aquaman sequel focuses on, “responsibility, and weight, and what it means to be a father and a king.”
However, it appears Jason Momoa isn’t the one one with concepts about Aquaman 2. Since it was revealed that Arthur Curry could be a father, DC followers pounced on the concept the movie would kill off his son in The Lost Kingdom by the hands of Black Manta. While director James Wan didn’t verify or deny the likelihood, he did communicate on how darkish it might be:
