It has been a record-breaking 12 months for Greta Gerwig as she achieved multiples firsts for a feminine director with international smash hit Barbie, topped by turning into the primary girl to surpass the one billion mark on the worldwide field workplace in July.

Gerwig is the second feminine director to be Jury President, after Jane Campion in 2014, and the second American girl after actress Olivia de Havilland, who was the primary feminine Jury President in 1965.
