Russia’s first mission to the moon in 5 a long time has led to failure, as their Luna-25 spacecraft crashed into the floor on strategy.
The unmanned vessel, which launched from the Vostochny Cosmodrome earlier this month, crashed on the moon’s floor Saturday. Not a lot is understood about the reason for the failure, however officers referred to as it an “irregular state of affairs.”
The launch marked Russia’s first try and strategy the moon since 1976 … the objective was to try a touchdown close to the moon’s south pole.
The Russian area company, Roscosmos, mentioned they misplaced contact with the craft Saturday afternoon stating, “spacecraft entered an unplanned orbit and ceased to exist after colliding with the floor of the Moon.”
All further efforts to make contact have since failed.
