Halle Bailey Reflects On Isolation While Filming ‘The Little Mermaid’


As audiences await the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, Halle Bailey is opening up about a few of her experiences filming the venture.

Specifically, the 23-year-old acknowledged feeling remoted and “alone,” although she was capable of deliver these feelings into her portrayal of Ariel.

The Actress Recalls Filming The Little Mermaid During “Height Of The Pandemic”

Halle dished on the matter throughout a sit-down with PEOPLE. She began by reminiscing about how filming went down throughout “the height of the pandemic.”

As a consequence, she discovered herself out of the blue “away from everything” acquainted to her. This feeling was possible compounded by filming taking place abroad in London and Italy.

“We were filming in the height of the pandemic, and I was suddenly living alone away from everything I knew.”

Now that filming has wrapped, Halle says she’s excited for audiences to see the ultimate product. After remarking that the premiere “has been five years of buildup,” she stated, “It’s nice to finally have it be released into the world.”
