Showtime is seeking to carry again two of its signature comedy collection, Nurse Jackie and Weeds. Both hail from Lionsgate Television and have the unique leads, Edie Falco and Mary-Louise Parker, connected to star and govt produce. Deals are being negotiated and the Weeds sequel could be written and govt produced by Christian Torpe, with Nancy in Copenhagen. This matches into Showtime’s new programming technique targeted on franchise constructing, with new offshoots of different signature collection, reminiscent of The L Word, Billions and Dexter. Weeds, created by Jenji Kohan, aired from 2005-2012 and gained two Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award and WGA Award. Nurse Jackie, created by Liz Brixius, Linda Wallem and Evan Dunksy, aired from 2009 to 2015 and gained 5 Primetime Emmy Awards.
