We chat with author Andy Walker and director Lesley Manning as they put together to carry their new present Happy Hour to Upstairs on the Gatehouse.
Happy Hour finds Jacqui confronting her interior demon, who occurs to be referred to as George, and who is continually tempting her to maintain ingesting. As we hear, while a piece of fiction, the play comes from Andy’s personal struggle with drink, though he has been sober for a couple of a long time now.

Jacqui has an issue: herself. She’s managed by an inner demon named George. George is every part Jacqui wish to be: humorous, enticing, sociable. But George’s function is tempting Jacqui to drink alcohol. Jacqui doesn’t want a lot tempting. And ingesting is killing her.
Jacqui wants to interrupt free from the self-slavery of dependancy and regain her soul. However, George isn’t ready to free his captive with out a titanic wrestle.
HAPPY HOUR tackles a really common topic – alcohol dependancy – with an imaginative mix of comedy and drama.
