Gangubai Kathiawadi, directed and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, gained 10 awards on the 68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards with Maharashtra Tourism on Thursday. Bhansali obtained the Best Director award, and Alia Bhatt was recognised for her efficiency as Best Actress.
Bhansali thanked Filmfare for the honour throughout his acceptance speech and acknowledged, “Gangubai is a really particular movie and near my coronary heart. I get very emotional each time we discuss it. This award belongs to everybody who has labored in it. Then I come to my jaan, my jigar, mera jigar ka tukda, Alia Bhatt.”
He continued, “I’m very blessed to witness her carry out Gangubai proper in entrance of me. Every second was so particular and so younger from the center. It was Alia’s flip to expertise Gangubai’s glory as Bhansali sat again down. Rekha, a seasoned actress, gave Alia the Best Actress award whereas gushing over the recipient. Alia felt overwhelmed as she accepted the prize.
