This is a pre-show dialogue that includes Playwright, M.D. Schaffer, and an invited member from the neighborhood as they cowl necessary themes which can be current throughout Drapetomania.
M.D. Schaffer (They/They) is a queer, Non-Binary, African American author born in Houston, Texas and at the moment residing in New York City. Their earlier works embody F***in’ Howard Phillips with the JaYo Theatre Company, Hotel On Fremont at The Lewis Center for the Arts, and A Rodeo Clown with the Obsidian Theatre Festival. They obtained their B.A. in Anthropology at Princeton University and their M.F.A in Musical Theatre Writing at New York University – Tisch. Their works look at the relation between Americana historic romanticism and American modern actuality.
