And whereas the upcoming collection, “Dead Ringers,” isn’t directed by the legendary filmmaker, his DNA remains to be throughout it, as it’s a remake of the 1988 movie of the identical identify. It’s simply this time, there are different filmmakers concerned in bringing his mind-bending story to life.

“Dead Ringers” is a collection remake of David Cronenberg’s 1988 movie, which stars Jeremy Irons within the roles of Elliot and Beverly Mantle. The upcoming collection will star Rachel Weisz because the Mantle twins, alongside Britne Oldford, Poppy Liu, Michael Chernus, Jennifer Ehle, and Emily Meade.
The restricted collection will comprise six episodes, directed by “Martha Marcy May Marlene’s” Sean Durkin, Karyn Kusama (“Jennifer’s Body“), Karena Evans (“P-Valley“), and Lauren Wolkstein (“A Friend of the Family”).
Its plot synopsis reads, “A modern take on David Cronenberg’s 1988 thriller starring Jeremy Irons, Dead Ringers will feature Rachel Weisz playing the double-lead roles of Elliot and Beverly Mantle, twins who share everything: drugs, lovers, and an unapologetic desire to do whatever it takes—including pushing the boundaries of medical ethics—in an effort to challenge antiquated practices and bring women’s health care to the forefront.”
Produced by Weisz, Durkin, Alice Birch, Stacy O’Neil, Sue Naegle, Ali Krug, Erica Kay, Anne Carey, Polly Stokes, James G. Robinson, David Robinson, and Barbara Wall, all six episodes of “Dead Ringers” will premiere on Prime Video on April 21. Watch the teaser right here:
