Tourists take part in a mushroom hunt in the course of the forests of Brazil’s Rio Grande do Sul


Each step is taken rigorously within the São Francisco de Paula, Serra Gaucha pine forest. Armed with wicker baskets, the vacationers regulate the bottom, lined with dry leaves, trying to find mushrooms.

Small elevations within the leaf litter could be a sign of the existence of a mushroom.

And trying on the edges of the forest helps within the search, recommends the biologist Jeferson Timm, who accompanies and guides guests through the tour.

One of them is to know the right way to determine the species.
