MANILA, Philippines — Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez on Monday met with representatives from the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to search out options and determine accountable events for the present onion and garlic hoarding scenario.
Romualdez on Sunday warned hoarders and merchants manipulating the provision and costs of onion and garlic, in addition to different agricultural commodities that they are going to be charged as soon as the House of Representatives conducts its probe.
“If you recognize who these individuals are, tell us. We will invite all of them, if not, have the authorities arrest them,” Romualdez mentioned in an announcement.
