The Brazilian authorities has accredited the demarcation of 13 new indigenous territories.
After 4 years wherein ex-president Jair Messias Bolsonaro has refused to cede a single centimeter for the designation of recent indigenous territories, the Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva authorities plans to provide 13 new territories to those communities, that’s, 843,000 hectares extra of protected areas.
“The 13 new lands are greater than only a demarcation of boundaries; they’re an indication of reparation for the violations of the rights of indigenous peoples in recent times,” defined the coordinator of the Indigenous Peoples Association . . .
