Ahlam moved round loads as a baby. She has lived in Germany, Singapore, Kenya, Venezuela, Turkey and the UK. She initially studied theatre in Egypt, the place she created work combining components of classical Greek Theatre and surrealism with modern dance, primarily based on her heartbreak. Her curiosity in text-based theatre was compelled upon her in true British custom, when she was requested to put in writing a reimagining of Indiana Jones to take to the Edinburgh Fringe. Luckily, it seems she fairly likes writing. Ahlam is a dreamer. Ahlam desires of revolution. Ahlam desires of the emancipatory energy of day-dreaming. Ahlam desires of huge ensemble theatre with big units. Ahlam desires of pistachio-crusted salmon she ate as soon as in Sicily. Ahlam desires of affection. You Bury Me isn’t the primary play she’s written and it received’t be her final.
