Evan Peters’ win on the Golden Globes 2023 for the controversial Netflix hit sequence, Dahmer, has been criticised.

Peters picked up the award for Best Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Television Movie for enjoying the notorious American serial killer. However, the actor’s lauded efficiency as Dahmer has triggered consternation amongst many because it arrived on the streaming service in 2022.

Now, Shirley Hughes – mom of Dahmer sufferer Tony Hughes – informed TMZ what she considered Peters’ win. She stated: “People winning acting roles from playing killers keeps the obsession going.”

Hughes then went on to notice that she felt Peters ought to have referenced the victims’ households in his acceptance speech. On stage on the awards Peters stated: “I want to thank everyone out there who watched this show. It was a difficult one to make, a difficult one to watch, but I sincerely hope some good came out of it.”
