Celebrating Creatives within the Industry was created to focus on and have a good time girls filmmakers who’ve exhibited extraordinary work over the previous yr.

The occasion will embrace a panel dialogue on the challenges and alternatives dealing with filmmakers at present, that includes administrators of a number of the greatest movies of the awards season. Moderated by Rebecca Keegan, Senior Film Editor at The Hollywood Reporter, the panel will embrace Kathlyn Horan, director of “The Return of Tanya Tucker – Featuring Brandi Carlile”(Sony Pictures Classics); Sanaa Lathan, director/actress of “On the Come Up” (Paramount+); Maria Schrader, director of “She Said” (Universal Pictures); and Domee Shi, director and author of “Turning Red” (Disney/Pixar).

“Over the last 15 years, Women and Hollywood has been amplifying the voices of women creatives,” mentioned Melissa Silverstein, Founder of Women and Hollywood. “It has been heartening to see a recent shift in the industry, but we still have far to go particularly for women of color. Storytellers matter. Different kinds of stories matter. I am grateful that we are able to celebrate some of the best stories and storytellers of the year.”

The occasion is sponsored by Ruth Harnisch/The Harnisch Foundation. Event companions embrace United Talent Agency, Paramount+, Universal Pictures, Sony Pictures Classics, and Disney/Pixar.
