Now that Billie Lourd is a mother of two, remembering her late mom, Carrie Fisher, is that rather more poignant. The American Horror Story actress, 30, took to Instagram two days after Christmas to mark the six-year anniversary of the demise of her mom, the beloved Star Wars icon who performed Princess Leia. “It has been 6 years since my Momby died (feels like 2 but also like 705 at the same time?)” she wrote alongside a candy throwback pic in a restaurant with Carrie.

Billie then famous how the start of her second baby on December 12 with husband Austen Rydell introduced her bittersweet pleasure. “And unlike most other years since she’s died, this year, these past two weeks have been some of the most joyful of my life,” she continued. “Giving birth to my daughter and watching my son meet her have been two of the most magical moments I have ever experienced. But with the magic of life tends to come the reality of grief.”

The actress defined that her mom’s premature demise on December 27, 2016, left a gap in her household life. “My mom is not here to meet either of them and isn’t here to experience any of the magic,” she wrote. “Sometimes the magical moments may also be the toughest. That’s the factor about grief. I want my Momby had been right here, however she isn’t. So all I can do is maintain onto the magic more durable, hug my children a little bit tighter. Tell them a narrative about her. Share her favourite issues with them. Tell them how a lot she would have cherished them.

Most importantly, she shared that she desires others grieving should not bearing the burden alone. “For anyone out there experiencing the reality of grief alongside the magic of life, I see you,” she concluded within the emotional publish. “You are not alone. Don’t ignore either. Life can be magical and griefy at the same time.”

Carrie Fisher famously handed away from sudden cardiac arrest on the age of 60 in 2016, two days after Christmas. Her mom Debbie Reynolds died in the future later at age 84, per CNN.
