PHOENIX and TUCSON, ARIZ.: Arizona Theatre Company (ATC) has named Matt August, a director and educator, their new inventive director. He succeeds Sean Daniels, who will function director of the brand new Recovery Project at Florida Studio Theatre.
“We’re delighted to have Matt on board as we continue our legacy and forge ATC’s next chapter,” ATC govt director Geri Wright stated in an announcement. “Matt brings a wealth of theatre experience, connections, creativity, and innovative and thoughtful work to ATC.”
August directed the favored 2006 manufacturing of How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical on Broadway, which he directed once more within the 2007 vacation season, in addition to helming the musical’s nationwide and U.Ok. excursions. At ATC, August directed Discord within the 2015-16 season and King Charles III within the 2016-17 season.
