“Saturday Night Live” pulled off each an “Only Murders within the Building” and a “Father of the Bride” reunion within the Dec. 10 episode hosted by Steve Martin and Martin Short. The legendary comedians have been in prime kind as they kicked off the present with a spiky monologue that included them delivering one another’s eulogies — which have been really simply roasts. From there, the episode went on to serve up visitor appearances from Selena Gomez and Kieran Culkin, a bloody retelling of “A Christmas Carol,” and Short as a disgruntled elf named both Sprinkles or Pringles. (Even he isn’t 100% certain.)
The vacation episode marked Martin’s sixteenth time internet hosting “SNL,” probably the most internet hosting appearances by anybody apart from Alec Baldwin, who has hosted the present 17 instances. Meanwhile, it was Short’s fourth time, one thing the duo highlighted within the monologue earlier than launching into their eulogies for each other.
Among the perfect barbs of the night time was Short teasing Martin about all the nice issues he might say about his comedy accomplice. “There are so many good issues I might say about Steve Martin however this hardly appears the time nor the place . . .
