The Colombian authorities plans to finance the development of the second frigate of the Surface Strategic Platform (PES) program and a second logistics help ship (BAL 6012) over the subsequent 4 years, coinciding with the presidential time period of the present president, Gustavo Petro.
The Colombian intentions derive from the efforts of the National Navy (ARC) aimed on the growth of the PES venture, which contemplates the development of 5 frigates till 2032, in addition to having two BAL 6012 kind vessels, with which it might concurrently cowl the Atlantic and Pacific coasts.
