Javier Ortiz Vies for Miami Police Union Presidency After Firing



Recently fired Miami Police Captain Javier Ortiz, the white Hispanic officer who as soon as claimed he was a Black man, has introduced he’s working to turn out to be president of Miami’s Fraternal Order of Police to curb what he calls discriminatory therapy of Black officers within the Miami Police Department.

In January 2020, he spawned nationwide headlines over his claims that he’s “a Black man” beneath the “one drop rule,” an antiquated racial classification system.

Ortiz served because the Miami Fraternal Order of Police’s president from 2011 till his resignation from the place in late 2017. He argues that he’s preventing “for the method, not the particular person.”
