EDP to advertise renewable power in 4 African nations, together with Mozambique and Angola

EDP, a Portuguese power group whose greatest shareholder is China Three Gorges, will finance 9 initiatives selling entry to renewable power in Mozambique, Nigeria, Angola, and Malawi.

In an announcement, EDP says that the entire funding of 1 million euros, assured by the A2E Fund (Access to Energy), may have a “direct impact on priority areas such as health, agriculture, education or access to clean water” in these nations “involving more than one million direct and indirect beneficiaries”.

Among the chosen initiatives is a photo voltaic ‘suitcases’ system that gives power for maternity wards, micro-electrical grids to produce medical posts . . .
