This festschrift occasion is in honor of Professor Tor Iorapuu, a professor of utilized and social theatre, and the present vice-chancellor of Benue State University (BSU), Nigeria. The compendium Different Models, One Goal: Doing Theatre, Democracy, and Social Justice gives each theoretical and evidence-based insights into the processes of socially-engaged theatre by means of the lens of Tor Iorapuu’s community-driven theatre.

Bio

Tor Joe Iorapuu is a Professor of Applied and Social Theatre and the present Vice-Chancellor of Benue State University, Makurdi, Nigeria. Prior to this appointment, Iorapuu had labored and lived in Jos, Plateau State. Iorapuu’s areas of analysis pursuits and experience embrace Applied and Social Theatre, Communication for Social Change and Community Organizing. As a group activist and growth practitioner for over three a long time, Iorapuu has used these pedagogies to animate energetic youth citizenship and construct youth networks in Nigeria. He can also be a broadcast playwright. Since the outbreak of violence and battle within the metropolis of Jos, Plateau State in 2001, Iorapuu has utilized participatory methods to stimulate new conversations on tensions and injustices that disconnect communities. Iorapuu works with grassroots theatres fascinated about utilizing artwork theatre and sports activities (soccer) to beat violence, and tensions; excavate their truths and their troubled pasts and assist communities dare to check new views of therapeutic their damaged previous.
