Louis Tomlinson has admitted that he’s been jealous of Harry Styles’ profitable solo profession.
The soloist, who releases his second album ‘Faith In The Future‘ this Friday (November 11), said in a new interview that he initially felt green-eyed about Styles’ successes as an artist and a burgeoning actor.
Tomlinson, who was previously within the five-piece boy band One Direction with Styles, mirrored on the early days of the group’s break up in 2015.
He instructed The Telegraph in reference to Styles’ profession: “I’d be mendacity if I stated it didn’t trouble me at first.
“Only ‘cos I didn’t know where to place myself, and really my only point of reference was other members of the band. But it’s not surprising to me that Harry’s the most commercially successful because he really fits the mould of a modern star.”
Styles has gone on to launch three Number One albums – ‘Harry Styles‘ (2017), ‘Fine Line‘ (2019) and ‘Harry’s House‘ (2022) – and in September continued to break records on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with ‘As It Was’ reaching its fifteenth week at Number One.
With that milestone, Styles grew to become the longest-reigning British artist to high the US chart with a single monitor, usurping Elton John‘s 1997 hit ‘Candle In The Wind’ (which spent 14 weeks at Number One).
Tomlinson, whose debut album ‘Walls‘ went to Number Four in the UK charts, added about Styles: “He’s not simply doing music, he’s bought movie as nicely, and the tour he’s finished is unbelievable. It took me some time to work out the place I stand.”
However, the singer stated that he’s pleased with his former bandmate. “I look on Harry like a brother, man,” he stated. “I have a lot of pride for what he’s doing.”
Besides music, Styles landed his first performing function in Christopher Nolan’s warfare epic Dunkirk (2017) and this 12 months has gone on the star within the movies Don’t Worry Darling and My Policeman.
