NEW YORK CITY: The Thornton Wilder Society will current the annual Thornton Wilder Prize to creative director Michel Hausmann and the corporate he co-founded, Miami New Drama. The awards ceremony will happen on the American Academy of Arts and Letters in New York on Nov. 14. The occasion will characteristic an onstage dialogue about Miami New Drama’s multilingual 2017 manufacturing of Wilder’s Our Town, together with a dialogue about Wilder’s life, profession, and enduring recognition amongst Hausmann, playwright Sarah Ruhl, and Thornton Wilder’s nephew and literary executor, Tappan Wilder, moderated by journalist Jeremy McCarter.
Miami New Drama is the resident theatre firm on the Colony Theatre in Miami Beach. Under Hausmann’s management, Miami New Drama produced the primary trilingual manufacturing—in Spanish, Haitian Creole, and English—of Thornton Wilder’s basic drama Our Town.
The Thornton Wilder Society is devoted to preserving and increasing the legacy of the three-time Pulitzer-winning author, the one one to obtain awards for each fiction and drama.
