Released at this time on Insomniac’s Bassrush Records, Space Cathedral is a five-track EP that includes a number of the enigmatic duo’s most haunting music so far. The file leans closely into their thrilling, exploratory idea and introduces a heavy mix of experimental bass.
Before the discharge of Space Cathedral, the masked tandem tweeted out a hyperlink to “jointhespacecult.com,” which contained an encrypted message and a warning on the high of the web page: “YOU SHOULD NOT BE HERE.” Tasking followers with deciphering the contents of the message and discovering the password wanted to proceed, the chilling environment created by the duo served as a not-so-subtle warning in regards to the contents of the EP.
