MANILA, Philippines — Suspended Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) director-general Gerald Bantag on Sunday stated he would relatively die than be jailed over his alleged involvement within the homicide of radio commentator Percival “Percy Lapid” Mabasa.
The suspended BuCor chief alsoreiterated his innocence.
“Will I permit myself to be imprisoned? Just kill me if they are saying that I’m their goal. The authorities and I’ll simply find yourself making an attempt to kill one another,” Bantag stated in Filipino in his “Komentunying” interview with Anthony Taberna.
Bantag was suspended by Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla, to permit for an investigation into the dying of Crisanto Villamor Jr.
