New York alt-soul artist Foushée, who memorably collaborated with Steve Lacy on “Sunshine,” has introduced her debut album, softCORE, coming November 18 through RCA. As a press launch lays out, softCORE is a “punk record in the most pointed sense of the word” and hones in on Foushée’s genre-rich presentation. It additionally contains a visitor spot from Lil Uzi Vert on “spend the money.” Along with the album announcement is a lead single referred to as “supernova,” which additionally has a video directed by Michael Rees.
Opening as much as Alternative Press about her diversified musical fashion final spring, Fousheé stated: “I think it’s a reflection of my taste. I get really bored very easily, so the music that I listen to is all over the place and a reflection of my personality. If I’ve been writing a lot of sappy love songs, eventually I’ll feel this urge to revolt and then write something polar opposite to that. I love variety. It keeps me entertained.”
