Announcing the Winners of the 2022 Alfred P. Sloan Script Competition at Carnegie Mellon University.

The School of Drama is delighted to announce the 2022 awardees within the Alfred P. Sloan Script Competition at Carnegie Mellon University for one of the best screenplay or tv pilot furthering the general public understanding of science and expertise.
First place ($25,000):
STELLAR COLLISION by Kandace James
A grieving astrophobe tormented by the lack of her father desires to seek out love the place her deepest concern and likelihood for redemption collide. Can she overcome concern and embrace the constellations which were igniting her path all alongside?
Second place ($15,000):
DRIFT by Trà Nguyễn
Despite the indifference of scientific circles within the Nineteen Fifties, a feminine cartographer maps the world ocean ground, answering an unimaginable query in regards to the Earth’s floor.
Third place ($5,000):
SAVING LITTLE HOPE by Beth Ann Powers
A planet within the warmth of disaster, an island getting ready to destruction, and an intrepid younger scientist with the funding to grow to be the best hero Little Hope has ever recognized. This mockumentary follows environmental seismologist, May Wu, on her race towards the rising tide to save lots of a sinking city of science haters utilizing the powers of seismology, spies, and shoo-fly pies.
