Margot Robbie thought ‘Barbie’ would “by no means see the sunshine of day”


Barbie star Margot Robbie has revealed that she initially thought the movie would by no means get made.

Speaking to Bafta to advertise the movie, Robbie stated in a video shared her ideas on the movie upon first studying the script. “The first time I read the Barbie script, my reaction was, ‘Ah! This is so good. What a shame it will never see the light of day because they are never going to let us make this movie.’ But they did.”

When requested if she may disclose any further data on Barbie, Robbie coyly replied “Can’t tell ya” whereas smirking and zipping her lips.

Set for launch on July 21, the movie is directed by Greta Gerwig and has been long-awaited by followers. It stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling within the lead roles as Barbie and Ken respectively.

Earlier this month, 20 posters have been revealed to advertise the movie, exhibiting off its stellar all-star solid together with Dua Lipa as a mermaid variation of Barbie, Helen Mirren because the narrator, Michael Cera as a personality referred to as Allan and Will Ferrell, who performs the Mattel CEO.

Other actors included on the posters embody Superstore’s America Ferrera, High Fidelity’s Kingsley Ben-Adir, Sex Education’s Emma Mackey and Derry Girls’ Nicola Coughlan.

Last December, the official Barbie trailer was launched and paid homage to the Stanley Kubrick basic, 2001: A Space Odyssey. Following the trailer, followers took to social media to share their pleasure for the upcoming movie. One fan proclaimed that it’ll take the title of “movie of the year”, whereas one other steered that it’ll “change cinema”.
