Song Exploder – Seal

“Kiss from a Rose”

Seal is a multi-Grammy-winning singer and songwriter from England. His tune “Kiss from a Rose” was first launched in 1994, on his second album. It was an enormous hit, thanks partially to being featured within the film Batman Forever. It landed on the highest ten charts in a number of international locations, and finally went quadruple platinum within the US. At the 1996 Grammys, it received Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

“Kiss from a Rose” changing into successful was not a foregone conclusion, although. Seal virtually didn’t document it. And when it was first launched, it didn’t make a lot of a splash. But for this episode, Seal and his longtime collaborator, producer Trevor Horn, informed me the story of what it took to deliver “Kiss from a Rose” to life.
