In May of 2022, a gaggle of 11 climbers turned the primary all-Black expedition to summit Mount Everest. The group was known as Full Circle Everest, and their climb was written about by journalists everywhere in the world. Full Circle was made up of outside consultants, climbers, academics, skiers, and snowboarders. There was additionally one US Army veteran on the expedition, Demond Mullins.
