3 NPA rebels slain in operating battle in Quezon
LUCENA CITY, Quezon City, Philippines — Three alleged communist rebels had been killed in an encounter with authorities forces on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 29, in San Francisco city in Quezon province, based on the Quezon Police Provincial Office.

As of this writing, the battle has not ended.

The conflict began on Friday afternoon, Jan. 27, when the federal government troops — a joint crew of law enforcement officials and Army troopers — had been conducting sizzling pursuit operations towards 10 to fifteen New People’s Army rebels who had been concerned in a conflict within the neighboring city of San Andres.
