Delta Flight Attendant Goes Viral After Comforting Passenger


A heartwarming second between a Delta crew member and a nervous passenger has gone viral, with many praising the younger man for going above and past his regular scope of duties.

The airline employee, recognized as Floyd Dean-Shannon, and the tearful passenger have been each on a flight from Charlotte to New York City when the latter started experiencing what sounds to be an anxiousness assault because of a concern of flying.

Floyd took a seat within the aisle and held her hand whereas calmly assuaging her nervousness.

“Check out this gem of a flight attendant that was on our flight from CLT to JFK,” passenger Molly Lee, of Raleigh, North Carolina, wrote on Facebook.

“This woman was so nervous about flying, so he explained every sound and bump and even sat here holding her hand when it still got to be too much for her.”

An image of the second has since gone viral, with almost a half of 1,000,000 views and over 226K likes as of Monday.

“Floyd Dean-Shannon deserves a raise!” Lee mentioned about Floyd’s act of kindness.

Lee went on to inform information station WXII-12 that she was flying to JFK International Airport on Jan. 14 when she overheard a lady expressing her concern of flying to different passengers.

That’s when she says Floyd instantly jumped into motion: “I’ve got you,” he was heard saying.

“He took notice of that and said, ‘I’ve got you,’ and just was very reassuring, just told her not to worry, it was going to be totally safe and she was tearing up,” she instructed the outlet.

Lee mentioned Floyd sat and comforted her for about 10 minutes till she started to ease up a bit. She went on to say she “had to take a picture because it was moving.”

“I had to take a picture because it was moving. It was so beautiful to see somebody just extend their heart like that to a stranger,” she added.

She continued: “With every little noise, she’d be like, ‘What’s that?’ He’s like, ‘That’s OK. That’s just the jet bridge pulling away’ or whatever the case may be. And that really helped her,” in response to ABC11.

Lee mentioned that Floyd deserves “everyone’s praise, admiration…” and that she is “so completely happy he’s getting that recognition.

“I just really hope that Floyd gets what he deserves, which is everyone’s love, everyone’s praise, everyone’s admiration. I’m so happy that he’s getting that recognition. And I really hope it leads to good things for him,” she mentioned.
