ZAMBOANGA City, Philippines — Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Erwin Garcia on Saturday referred to as on the Philippine National Police (PNP) to make clear the 2021 gun assault in Basilan that left a ballot officer blind.
At a media convention right here, Garcia offered Aknam Hasim, 49, an election officer of Maluso city in Basilan who survived the gun assault onOctober 2021.

The Comelec chair vowed to provide Hasim, 49, monetary help as he may not work following the assault that left him utterly blind.
